For our Group Finance Team at the headquarters in Kempele, we are looking for an experienced and results-driven

Head of Group Accounting & Reporting

You will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of the Polar Electro Group as well as for all finance, controlling, VAT and tax matters of the parent company Polar Electro OY. You report to the CFO.

The primary location is Polar Electro's headguarters in Kempele. Working from the office in Tampere or Helsinki is also possible - if the location is Tampere or Helsinki - we expect you to be willing to work 4-5 days a month in Kempele.

Key responsibilities and tasks

• Manage all aspects of financial accounting and reporting of the Polar Electro Group
• Manage the accounting, financing, VAT and tax matters of the parent company Polar Electro OY and of the Sales Support company Polar Electro Sverige
• Manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end Group closing in compliance with Finnish generally accepted accounting principles, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Update the Polar Accounting Standards (PAS) and stay on top of change to Finnish finance and accounting regulations. 
• Liaise with auditors and own the internal control system of the entire Polar Group
• Manage the company's financial accounting and reporting systems. Group-wide process owner of SAP FI, cooperating closely with Polar's Business Application team 
• Support, train and instruct local Accountants and Finance Managers
• Continuous improvement of systems, processes and organization
• Participate in cross-functional projects including sales, marketing and operations
• Lead and develop the Finance team in Finland, as well as the Accountant in Sweden, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement 
• Act as a key member of the Group’s Finance team. The team fosters collaboration and promoting an international working culture in the company.

Experience and key competencies

• Master’s degree in finance or relevant finance experience
• Solid working experience in the Finance department of a multinational company
• Entrepreneurial, networked thinking, and strong analytical skills
• Excellent process knowledge with the ability to analyse, assess and redesign multi-level processes in an international environment
• Sound knowledge of working with SAP (FI/CO) and one of the major consolidation systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and execute adequate actions
• Hands-on mentality and team player personality
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in English and Finnish
• Proven people management and talent development skills
