Junior Engineer (Technical Support), Whitewater, Helsinki/Espoo

On behalf of our client Whitewater, we are looking to hire a Junior Engineer (Technical Support) who is eager to develop their career in the engineering sector. This role is perfect for recent college graduates or those with one to two years of relevant engineering experience and are interested in working in a dynamic, project-driven environment. The Junior Engineers will assist in the execution of engineering projects, support senior engineers, and contribute to innovative solutions in the water treatment and engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Support:
- Assist senior engineers in designing, analysing, and implementing water treatment systems and related engineering solutions.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and project reports.
- Assist with project design calculations, simulations, and analysis, ensuring that all work adheres to industry standards and client requirements.
- Support the team with field surveys and data collection for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of design changes, technical discussions, and project specifications.
- Project Coordination:
- Provide technical support for ongoing engineering projects, assisting in scheduling tasks, monitoring project progress, and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, project management) to ensure project needs and timelines are aligned.
- Assist in compiling technical documents and reports for project clients and stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings, taking notes and tracking action items, ensuring follow-up with relevant team members.
- Support project delivery by performing research on materials, methods, and technologies relevant to each project.
- Document Control & Reporting:
- Assist in maintaining project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and correspondence, ensuring that all documents are properly logged, stored, and updated.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and project-specific requirements for document control.
- Help generate progress reports, tracking key project metrics and deliverables.
- Support the document control process by ensuring that all documentation is version-controlled and accessible to relevant project stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Assist in the review and evaluation of engineering designs, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support testing and commissioning activities by ensuring that necessary equipment and documentation are in place.
- Contribute to the preparation of quality assurance and compliance reports for client review and regulatory bodies.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (required).
- Strong academic background with exposure to relevant engineering subjects, including water treatment, environmental systems, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
- Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role, preferably in the water treatment, construction, or environmental engineering sectors.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to contribute to design calculations and technical evaluations.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, particularly in relation to water treatment, environmental systems, and mechanical design.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams and communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes.
