About the Role
We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Application Manager to take ownership of our on-premises ServiceNow platform. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the platform infrastructure, ensuring system availability, supporting upgrades, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable ServiceNow services.
This position combines ServiceNow administration, infrastructure management, automation, and operational support in a business-critical environment.
This is a fixed‑term (approx. 5 months) full‑time hybrid position based in Helsinki, Finland, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the on-premises ServiceNow platform.
- Plan and execute ServiceNow platform upgrades and infrastructure changes.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, middleware, and databases supporting the platform.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and overall system health.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, network, and integration-related incidents.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver operational improvements.
- Translate business requirements into technical ServiceNow operational tasks.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
Required Skills and Experience
ServiceNow Platform Administration
- Strong experience administering an on-premises ServiceNow environment.
- ServiceNow platform upgrade planning and execution.
- ServiceNow development and deployment experience.
- Knowledge of domain-separated environments.
- Experience working with ServiceNow Support, product documentation, security bulletins, and the ServiceNow Community.
Infrastructure Management, hands-on experience with:
- Linux and Windows Server administration, configuration, and upgrades.
- Middleware installation, configuration, and maintenance (e.g., Java, Apache, PHP).
- Infrastructure change planning, including firewall changes and server provisioning.
- Co-location services.
Database Administration, strong experience with MariaDB, including:
- Installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Database architecture and replication.
- Database performance monitoring, health checks, and optimization.
- Advanced SQL development, including queries, procedures, and schema design.
Integration & Operations
- Troubleshooting integration issues, including network connectivity and firewall-related problems.
- Backup and recovery solutions, preferably Rubrik.
- Monitoring tools such as Zabbix.
- Git version control.
- Configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible.
Required Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently in a complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical ServiceNow operational solutions.
