Site Health & Safety Advisor - Espoo
Whitewater Group is expanding its operations to support the development of a new data centre site in Finland through the establishment of a subsidiary. Now you have the opportunity to join them on their exciting mission!
On behalf of our client Whitewater Group, we are looking for an experienced Site Health & Safety Advisor to collaborate with Site Managers, Project Managers, Engineers and Subcontractors to ensure all Whitewater Group site activities are carried out in a safe and in a lawful way.
As a Health & Safety Advisor you will be monitoring, advising, and supporting the project team in implementing health, safety, and environmental standards in line with legislation, company policies, and client requirements to ensure the smooth delivery of works on a complex industrial and mission-critical site.
You will be employed by StaffPoint on a permanent contract and assigned to work with our client, Whitewater Group. The Project is located in area of Espoo, Finland, so we are looking for person who can reach this area easily.
Main Tasks
- Ensure all site activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to safe systems of work and method statements.
- Report, record, and investigate near-misses, accidents, and incidents.
- Ensure corrective and preventative measures are implemented promptly.
- Prepare incident reports and communicate lessons learned.
- Deliver toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Promote health and safety awareness and encourage workforce engagement.
- Maintain up-to-date health and safety documentation (risk assessments, COSHH assessments, method statements, permits to work).
- Provide weekly and monthly HSE performance reports to management.
- Assist with preparing site-specific HSE plans and documentation for audits.

- Strong knowledge of Finnish construction H&S legislation.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience working as a H&S Advisor on complex industrial and mission-critical sites.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and HSE reporting.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must hold valid EU/EEA work authorization for Finland
Desirable
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Recognised Appointed Person or Lift Supervisor qualification.
- Proven experience in temporary works coordination or relevant construction activities.
- Strong understanding of temporary works design, statutory regulations, and safe working practices.
- Ability to communicate in Finnish
