Strategic Procurement Professionals
Our client Merima is looking for procurement team members to join their locations in Helsinki and/or Turku to support their global operations. As the business is growing, Merima is seeking to expand its team with strategic and globally-minded individuals to ensure the successful execution of their projects. Depending on your final role, you will either report to the Procurement Team Lead or the Chief Procurement Officer. The recruitment process is handled in collaboration with Staffpoint Professionals.
We have a number of roles available, and these can be defined in line with the candidate’s experience and skills. Work items range from developing category strategies to scoping and executing strategic sourcing processes and negotiations, to implementing contract management activities, as well as developing processes and tools for the procurement team. These activities can be coupled with project procurement activities. Depending on the role and seniority, the role may require people leadership activities.
We are looking for procurement professionals with any or all of the following skills to join their Procurement and Supply Chain Team:
- Category Management - technical skills and practical experience in developing category strategies and implementing them in European or global setting.
- Strategic Sourcing- skills and experience in crafting and executing a range of RFx and supplier collaboration processes, experience in developing and negotiating framework and a range of long-term agreements.
- Contract Management - skills and experience in implementing and executing commercial Contract Management practices with a range of suppliers or customers in global industries.
- Supplier Relationship Management - experience in developing and executing a range of Relationship strategies with suppliers or customers to create long-term value.
Besides the above mentioned technical Procurement skills, we see that the following experience as important asset:
- Experience in operating in project-based operating environment
- Experience in the construction, heavy industry or ship building industry
- Strategic-thinking and analytical skills as well as commercial acumen
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity
- Ability to travel inside and outside Finland regularly
- Strong English language skills, both verbal and written; Finnish and other language skills are considered an advantage
- Sufficient knowledge of procurement-related IT tools
- Preferably a relevant educational background
