Technical Lead, Customer Solutions

Location: Espoo / Riihimäki, Finland (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Technical Lead to take ownership of the architecture, engineering practices and reliable delivery of NG Nordic’s customer-facing digital solutions. You will own and build solutions that support core business operations, provide technical direction to a small team of 2–4 developers and collaborate closely with other delivery teams and business stakeholders.

This role is primarily a technical leadership position and strong senior-level software development experience is therefore key. Previous formal people management experience is not essential if you have experience in technical leadership and the ability and motivation to grow into a people management role. You will combine technical leadership and architectural responsibility with hands-on development and have the autonomy to make and justify technical decisions.

What you will do

• Own and drive technical decisions for customer-facing solutions
• Design and evolve the architecture of the customer portal, APIs and Yard app
• Design and evolve data and integration architecture
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable and meet quality expectations
• Provide technical leadership and lead a team
• Ensure reliable delivery across scope, quality and timelines
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, standards and management of technical debt
• Contribute actively to hands-on software development
• Work closely with other technical delivery teams, the Product Owner and business stakeholders to shape the roadmap and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Advise business and product stakeholders on technical options, trade-offs and recommended solutions
• Make independent technical decisions and communicate the reasoning behind them clearly

Technology environment

Our technology stack includes Kotlin, Spring, Playwright, Terraform, Azure, SQL Server, React and GitHub. Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, React and Azure is particularly important for succeeding in this role.

How we work

• Small, focused development team with end-to-end ownership of customer-facing solutions
• Close collaboration with business, Product Owners and Group IT
• Emphasis on ownership, delivery, quality and continuous improvement
• Hybrid working model with approximately 1–2 days per week at the office in Espoo or Riihimäki
• The role may include occasional travel

What we are looking for

• Strong senior-level hands-on software development experience
• Solid understanding of software and solution architecture, including APIs, data and integrations
• Experience in leading technical solutions, mentoring developers or providing technical direction
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including maintainability, security, testing and technical debt management
• Ability to make independent technical decisions and explain technical choices and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience from the same industry is not required. Relevant experience can come from other complex application environments.
• Experience in using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery and quality is considered an advantage

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience

Languages

• Fluent English is required. Finnish is considered an advantage.
